In May of 2007, photographer
Camella Dimitri
moved to Clipper Estates in Slidell, after retiring from Tulane Law School after 23 years of service.  Living on the water has given Dimitri the opportunity to take pictures of sunrises and sunsets, and the wonderful wildlife that nature makes available to water front residents.  In August 2007, the photographer attended a gallery show hosted by the Slidell Art League.  The photography being featured seemed to strike a chord in Dimitri.  Realizing she had an "eye" for photography, she signed up right then and there to join the Slidell Art League.

Since then, she joined the Slidell Photography Club and she has embraced her craft and cultivated her photography skills, placing in many of the SAL's and Slidell Photography Club's "Artist of the Month" competitions, and garnering numerous awards and recognitions in juried art exhibits.  Dimitri states "By being a member of these organizations, I have learned so much and have met some wonderful people!  I have been taking photographs for competitions for a year now, and I am thrilled that the photography club elected me as "Photographer of the Month."  What an absolute honor!"
