"Pete" Clark is a retired Research and Development engineer, living in Diamondhead, Mississippi. His main interests in subject matter for his photography are Photojournalism, where the picture tells the story. He also enjoys Travel Photography, where memories seen and experienced are brought back home. He likes to use his camper truck or motorcycle to get off the beaten path to explore and hike.
Pete's interest in photography began in high school days, where he worked mixing chemicals and developing film for a local photographer. He was also the photographer for the high school yearbook. But any serious interests in the craft took a back seat with to college, his career and extended well into retirement. In 2001, a trip to Ireland taken with his wife Debbie prompted the purchase of a "point and shoot" digital camera. That camera combined with some very basic editing software produced pretty spectacular results, in his eyes.
Pete attempts to search out and create a high-quality picture once a month. Sometimes that goal is easy and sometimes not. But in his opinion it is a worthwhile endeavor. He has since upgraded his camera equipment, but believes it is not the equipment that makes the picture, but the ability to "see" an image in your mind before you capture it.
Although Pete considers himself nothing more than amateur, his work has been published in Latitudes and Attitudes and Walking World Ireland magazines.
His photojournalism image titled, "Making Rent in Jackson Square" will be on display at the St. Tammany Parish Public Library, Slidell Branch located on Robert Boulevard, throughout the month of May.
