Slidell Photography Club
Focuses on photography and learning from one another on how to use cameras and tips on how to enhance the "good" ones to make even better ones, along with good fellowship.
The club is a member of the
Gulf States Camera Club Council

The ages of the members range from 12 to into the eighties. Presently dues are $20 for an individual membership and $25 for a family membership.
Members compete in Pictorial, Nature, and Photojournalism categories in digital and non-digital images, as well as prints in all three categories.

Meetings
are held every 3rd Wednesday of each month ( 7:00 p.m) at the First Methodist Church in Olde Town in Room 108.
Club meetings are in an alternating format. One month will have a program or speaker, the next meeting will be competition.
Each will have a short business meeting.
John Geiser Award
John Geiser, Jr., a long time member of the Slidell Photography Club was a painter and decorator, a traveler of the world in search of beautiful camellia bushes. He was an accredited judge of the American Camellia Society and traveled throughout the south judging shows.
He had traveled to all 50 states and more than 65 foreign countries.
In 1999, in honor of John Geiser, the Slidell Photography Club started photography competitions to be held annually among members at the request of his nephew, Paul Muehlmann.
The themes of flowers and travel alternate yearly.
The first Geiser award was won by Judy Little in 2000.
Photographer of the     Month
is selected by the club officers and their work is on display at the Slidell Library, 555 Robert Blvd. Slidell La.

In addition to our meetings, programs and field trips, we also participate in many community events, including:
Photography instruction to school age children
"Photographer of the month" exhibit of the Slidell branch of the public Library
Organized the photography exhibit for the Great Louisiana Birdfest
