Slidell Photo Club Photographer of the Month is
Laurie Manley
who is originally from Ohio but says she did not find her artistic muse until moving to the South. She finds her passion in the people, landscapes, flowers and bayous throughout Louisiana. Laurie has won numerous local and regional awards for her photography. Her piece entitled "Azaleas" will be published in the Photographer's Forum magazine in the Best of Photography Annual 2008 to be released in December. She is a member of the Slidell Photography Club, New Orleans Photography Club, New Orleans Photo Alliance, St. Bernard Art Guild, Slidell Art League, Bayou Lacombe Art Guild, and the St. Tammany Art Association. Her photography is currently on display at the KFC restaurant on Gause Blvd. in Slidell, and can be viewed on her web site at www.LaurieManley.com.
Laurie's digital photo "Nature on the Lake" won First Place from juror Auseklis Ozols (founder of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art) during the St. Bernard Art Guild's 2008 Open Art Show and will be on display at the St. Tammany Parish Library located at 555 Robert Blvd., Slidell during the month of August.
