Clay Isbell
of Abita Springs is the Slidell Photo Club's April Photographer of the Month.He credits two ladies in his life for facilitating and encouraging his photographic talents, his mother and his wife, Lynn. In 2005 he received awards in a St. Bernard Parish photo contest and now has photos featured in national and local websites, local newspapers and a local magazine. He joined the Slidell Photography Club about two years ago and says he appreciates the friendliness and idea sharing that comes with being a member. He shots all digital with Canon 20D and 50D bodies. His photograph "Show Me The Way" was voted as a two-way tie for second place in the club's annual John Geiser award competition and is on display at the Robert Blvd. Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library in Slidell through the end of the month. The shot was taken in June while traveling through Wyoming on a family vacation. Clay says that the magnificent sight made standing in the cold wind at about 10,000 feet well worth it.
